The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail

O Lord, the world is to be won,

And the flesh says it can not be done;

But You have promised, as the waters cover the sea,

So shall the lands be full of the Gospel's glory!

That every nation, tribe, and man,

Shall bow in worship to the Son of Man;

The battle is raging, but You've already won,

In our strength we cannot, only through Your Son

May I strive with all my might,

With Your Glory ever in sight;

To pray for souls, this must be done,

But how shall they hear without someone?..

O Father save many souls,

Of the young and of the old;

The Gospel is the only cure to our despair,

But alas! So few will this truth declare!

O Jesus! Strengthen Your Bride,

That she may grain ground on every side;

The gates of Hell shall not prevail,

Therefore every opportunity we ought avail.

To kill the dragon and get the girl,

Is why You put us in this world;

That when at last we've made it home,

Just to dwell in Shalom!
