Numbers
I'm reading Numbers in the bible. They are complaining about not having meat and grains. Yet they are making animal, grain and wine sacrifices. So they had herds of different animals. So why didn't they eat the animals they were raising? I'm confused.

Their herds and sacrifices were not sufficient to feed their numbers. Israel was over a million strong when leaving Egypt and had grown since then. The land they were in was wilderness and couldn't support enough livestock numbers to feed them.
