As many of you know, i have been pretty much 100% deaf in my right ear since Nov laster year. 2 weeks ago, I had surgery to replace the failed ossicular chain prothesis that sits right behind the eardrum drum. As of a few days ago, the packing material has started to dissolve and I am beginning to start hearing upper midrange and higher tones. Lower tones should come in time. I am really really grateful. Post-op check-up on Wednesday. God is great all the time 😉

Surgery went well, Took an hour an then another 2 hours to wake up and become partially coherent. Apparently when the recovery nurse was trying to wake me, I called her annoying lol.. I am sure that's not the worst shes's been told

Yes, it is tiring. You would think that with my eyes constantly moving, that i would see everything moving or be in a constant state of dizziness. That's not the case. The brain is a fantastic thing and filters it out. It just means that I do not see all the details very well or track things very fast and why i mentioned the flip book anaolgy . For instance, when watching hockey, I cannot track the puck while it's in play. There is no cure for Nystagmus other than Christ healing them in this life or the next. That being said, i am extremely thankful for these contacts and having the ability to focus a little bit better. I am blessed in a lot of ways. Most people with this condition have very very poor sight and some are considered legally blind.

Day 2 of wearing the sclerals. For 40 years I have been wearing glasses and constantly straining and squinting. Its taking some time getting used to not having to strain and squit. I also am finding myself having to pull text further away to read. Its so strange and I am extremely grateful. For my work, I use 2 32in screens and a 34in wide screen. I needed them so big so that i could make the font size larger and still have usable work space.. I could probably go smaller now but, nah. ;)

**Update Monday, I had a diagnostic injection with a numbing agent on both sides of L3-L5. The plan was to do this 2 times and then I would be scheduled for an RFA procedure which would be longer lasting. The diagnostic injection did not have positive results and therefore,back to the drawing board. I have another appointment in mid September. I was really hoping and praying for some positive results and that I was finally on the path of treatment..
