Prayer Request for Gabe's Healing and Guidance
As some of you may know, our son Gabe’s youth group is attending the Lifeway Student Life camp this week in Ridgecrest, NC. Last night, we received a call that Gabe had hit his head while on the bus in the parking lot when it went over a bump. He was a bit woozy, off balance, and speaking slowly, so we decided to have him checked out at an ER in Asheville, which is about 20 minutes away.
I stayed on the phone with him while two of the pastors drove him to the hospital. Gabe sounded fine the whole way there and didn’t show any symptoms of a concussion, something we’re very familiar with as our daughter has had multiple concussions. We didn’t want to take any chances, especially with her history of head injuries.
By God's grace, Gabe was given a clean bill of health. Greg drove through the night to be there with him by 3 AM, and they’re almost home now, expecting to arrive by 3 PM today. Despite everything, Gabe is still scheduled to rehearse with the VBS worship team until 6 PM.
We would love for you to pray for continued healing, protection, and guidance for Gabe. As a family, we’ve seen firsthand how God has worked in our lives, especially through our daughter’s long battle with chronic headaches when she was in high school, and we know that Gabe is also under God’s care. Tori had 5 different types of headaches all of her head for 3 years straight 24/7 with no relief and over 3 neurologists that just threw medicines at it (never could come up with what was wrong) and botox injections that all hurt her and did nothing, but God ended up healing her 1 at a time...we just knew Gabe was under attack.
He has had an amazing time and two of their youth friends were saved the previous night. Gabe shared that the Holy Spirit has been moving powerfully during the camp, and many of the youth were on their knees in worship and prayer together at the altar.
A little about Gabe: He just turned 18 and is entering his senior year of high school. He has auditory processing disorder, dyslexia, and comprehension delays, but he continues to push through these challenges. He loves the Lord and dreams of becoming a pastry chef with a home bakery business, possibly adding bookkeeping to the mix (he’s great at math and has been enjoying accounting 1 this year, plus momma has worked in accounting fields over the years so he is definitely ours!).
We ask that you please keep Gabe in your daily prayers for healing, protection, and guidance as he prepares for the future God has planned for him. Thank you for being part of our family and for your prayers.
Blessings,
Jen Wright (aka Simple Faith)

In Prayer
It’s been a while since I shared an update on my daughter, Tori. I’m happy to say that she’s now allowing us back into her life and has called me several times to talk.
This shift seemed to happen after our son, her brother, was baptized on my birthday, November 17th. Tori and Kayla both came, and it was the first time I met Kayla. We had informed our church’s prayer team ahead of time so they could be praying for us and that special day. Our church family was so loving, greeting them both before and after the service. Both our Pastor and Executive Pastor made sure to greet them as well.
As they were leaving, we hugged them both, and we could tell that Kayla felt a little awkward about the hug. (She dresses in a masculine style and has a short, “man’s” haircut.) It was after this that communication began to open up again between us.
Tori allowed her Dad to bring her flowers for Valentine's Day at her office and welcomed him in to see her office. She also initiated a hug.
Tori and her brother, Gabe, were very close before she moved out at 23. They used to go on sibling dates, with sushi being their favorite. Now, they’ve started having lunch dates every week. What’s even more amazing is that Tori works only 3 minutes from our house, even though she lives 40 minutes away! (See how God works!) This has been such a blessing for Gabe, especially after the loss of my father in January 2023. Gabe and my father were best friends, and at the same time, Tori cut off contact with us, so Gabe struggled deeply with both grief and depression.
We’ve been praying over Gabe and anointing him regularly.
It’s been a little more than two months now that Tori and Gabe have been going on weekly dates, and Gabe has even invited Tori and Kayla to church again. It’s such a beautiful and healing step forward, and we continue to trust in God’s plan for their relationship.
We pray always for them both to be saved and for Kayla's family also to be saved.
We ask for continued prayers for them both to be saved and walk away from this sinful lifestyle.
I long for that day when she calls me to tell me she has accepted the Lord as her savior and asks to come home.
I have my good days and bad days but God is always filled me with peace that I give it all to him and just never stop praying over them.
I'm so thankful that we have y'all as our extended family that we can lean on and pray with us and for us.
Hugs,
Jennifer Wright (simple faith)

My grand-nephew was burned on Friday from grabbing hot fresh coffee at restaurant on table in front of him. It burned his leg around to his buttocks and part of arm.
He was transferred to a burn unit in Austell GA (2 hours south of us).
He was admitted Fri night and released Sat morning only because burn unit was closed.. RIGHT!? (trying not to be upset with stupidity)
Anyways he was fine this weekend and then we got a text (while we were live with Brad's study),
Sunday was a hard day and he was in a lot of pain and Motrin was only barely touching the pain. He woke up screaming and crying at 3am because he was so hot to the touch. They stripped him down and put in front of a fan (remember he's bandaged from 2nd degree burns) and took his temp, it was 102.2, gave Motrin, waited for an hour. It went down to 101.7 but now had red rash all over chest, back and arms and mouth. They called Children's hospital of Atlanta and her pediatrician on call. They were concerned he was starting an infection because the wound was so close to the diaper. They were advised to call the wound burn care unit at 8am. They wanted to see him immediately (2 hour drive). Logan and Brianna were in tears. They weren't doing good emotionally. My brother had to bring the car seat back to them from his car and Logan (his son-in-law) was in tears so bad he couldnt form a sentence. (Logan is a rugged man, hunter, tough, so this was a shock). They were worried worse case was sepsis.
UPDATE at 2pm
They are headed home! Wound was healing great and they redressed the wound. The rash and fever is viral, so they are headed to pediatrician. So we still need prayers that they can treat him for the rash and fever but thanking God his wound is good and it didnt cause it that we are aware of.
Please continue to pray for Beau that he will heal quickly and with no more sickness or pain.
He just turned 1 yr old on Nov.2nd.

In PRAISE Reports
This weekend Greg and I texted our daughter, Tori separately as we do regularly to let her know we love her, but for 1-1/2 years I've not seen her or heard from her in any form of communication nor talked to her. Its been hard but I know God is working.
Today we both looked at our phones and saw our daughter responded to our text with a "thank you 🖤". This was everything to us!!!
She has cut us off completely because we do not agree with her gay life and choices.
May God be glorified and we thank Him for this. It is continued encouragement and hope for us that one day very soon, she will accept Christ into her heart and walk away from her sinful life/flesh. Keep praying, keep having faith and believing!
Hugs

My husband's is from Western North Carolina Mountains (Newland, NC) and everything is a disaster.
The town has flooded, roads are eroded and mudslides. His parents live on a tall hill along a mountain so while they did have trees down, they didn't experience flooding at their home but the road to their home is washed out and mudslides. His family lives all around (across the road, down the road, family land) just think hillbilly.. LOL. Anyways, his brother Eric couldn't get to his parents down the road without using a tractor to move a culvert back to divert water that had been dislocated by the storm.
Rivers are everywhere down there which is a big cause of so much flooding. There are families that we call "river people" because they live along the river and I cannot imagine what has happened to their homes.
They don't expect to be able to their road to their homes to be repaired for a month. We have so much friends and family there that were hit hard (Spruce Pine, Linville, Plumtree, etc)
They are all without power. Greg has two younger siblings and his sister Monica, married, they've not heard from or been able to go check on her/husband so they dont know how they are. We expect they are fine but again, its just hard not hearing from your family. So much of NC was hit hard and his Aunt is in Asheville where it also. We are in Georgia so a lot in lower part of GA is suffering as well. I-40 and I-26 to NC is not passible. If you follow me on facebook you can see some video of damage I posted.
The storm was supposed to hit us directly and it turned and we were spared by God's grace!
Gregs parents are Carl and Nancy Wright, their health is not the best and we ask for continued prayer. They have a generator but again, needing gas and stuff not sure how long that will last.
Thanks everyone
Hugs

Please be praying for the families of Appalachee High School. The was a shooting early this morning at the school and this school is 15 minutes from us and Winder is a small town. This is just not something you'd ever expect. 2 teachers, 2 students are deceased and possibly 9 or more injured. They locked down all the schools in the county (only 2 HS's) and canceled classes for all Barrow County schools for the week.
The shooter (if thats the only one) was Colt Gray, 14 yrs old. They have stated he will be charged as an adult but I want to ask you to pray. If this was your child, would you feel he should be charged as an adult when he is a young teen that as we all know, have hormones new to him, emotions, and if he had hurt in his life, he felt he couldnt talk to anyone or he was ignored, we dont know at this time.
As Christians, I feel we need to see this through Christ's eyes. This boy has a chance to be saved by Christ and rehabilitated. There is a huge difference between an 18 yr old and 14yr old boy. I ask you to pray for the parents, families and Colt. There are a lot of angry people. We could see the local comments, even my neighborhood fb group and local town facebook group. Pray that God would surround this family (Grays) with Christians that can share Christ and uplift them through this time. As for all the students and families of AHS, please be praying.
The local county sheriff grew up in that county and went to school in this county and his kids do too and he said "My heart hurts for our community. But I want to make it very clear that hate will not prevail in this county. ... Love will prevail over what happened today."
Also be praying for all the law enforcement as they have so much to deal with to get to the truth and why and what happened.
Thank you for praying!

We just got great news from our city! We live in city limits of our tiny town in NE Georgia, but it has kept us from legally having chickens basing it of how much acreage.
We had a recent election that put in a new mayor and new council members.
We just found out we can have up to 10 chickens!!!!!!!!!!!
You do not know how excited we are and Brad/Christas newest video on BFH was a God thing!
My hubby Greg said, well we gotta start preparing fast!
I just cannot tell you how much of a blessing this is for us.
We dont forsee being able to move for about a year so this is just amazing news. (can you tell i'm excited!?)
Any recommendations for good hens for meat/eggs and docile would be greatly appreciated.
we have a shed like Brad's old one in ohio and we've already thought about converting it like his.
Please pray for guidance on what to do and the chickens to get.
Again, so thankful for all those that share info on chickens. I've been gathering info for years and now we get to finally do it!
Hugs

Here are my notes from today's devo - Jonah 2:1-9
fish (H1709) dāḡ /dawg/ any cold blooded sea creature with fins and scales
leviathan (H3882) livyatan /liv-ya-thawn/ sea monster, dragon, large aquatic animal
It doesn't say it was a whale but it also didn't call it a leviathan, just a big fish.
Did Jonah die?
v. 3-4
“I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice.” I went down to the moorings of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed behind me forever; Yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD, my God.
"As Jonah was 3 days and nights in the belly or the fish" Jesus died and resurrected on the 3rd day. Perhaps God resurrected Jonah. We don't know but it fits. ~BP Devo (Tyler Woods)
I was thinking the same thing..he asked if it could pass from him... he didnt "want' to if God would let it not need to happen. Mt. 26:39 - He gets it. ~jen@simplefaithanddaisies
"for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here” (Matthew 12:40–41) ~Roothie Tootie
No amount of prayer can change God's plan. Prayer changes US to align with God's plan. ~BP Devo (Tyler Woods)
Jonah wrote this book and his book was putting his own failings on display... My thoughts are "here is how not to do it."

Here are my notes from today's devo - Jonah 2:10-3:2
God told him to go... he ran (or took an Uber Fish).
Now after Jonah repented (in the fish), he spit him out after 3 days. See the foreshadowing... 3 days...!
*We don't know where the FISH swam to, for all we know, it could've stayed right around Joppa and never made it to Tarshish. Tarshish was the direction he was going and the boat to get as far across the world from Nineveh as he could.
What do you think Jonah looked and smelled like after that fish ride?
*He was probably covered in fish goo (wrapped up in seaweed), then he journeyed for 3 days and possibly was 'baking' in the sun with all that goo...EWW!!
v. 3:1-2
God a second time, told him to go to Nineveh and give his message.
v.3:3-5
Jonah obeyed and went to the great (in size) city, 3 days journey.
Quick Facts:
Nineveh - About 1850 sq. acres about 3 square miles; about 120,000 people or more.
Jonah gets in the city, he says "40 days and you're overthrown!"
Why only 8 words? No long message. Straight and to the point. Or did Jonah do the bare minimum to comply with what God asked him to do?
"It was the Spirit of God moving in the hearts of the listeners, NOT the power of the speaker." ~BP Devo (Pastor Tyler Woods)
Ninevah repents by calling for a fast and put on sackcloth.
"thank you... Ez 36:26 "And I will give you a new heart, & a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh & give you a heart of flesh." ~@xXSwaggerXx go's yeet
NOTE: The king also participated, issued a proclamation of all the kingdom including the animals are not to taste anything, no food or water and are to put on sackcloth (also the animals).
Final:
We need to pray for our leaders on all levels and our nation, get detailed in your prayers.

Here are my notes from today's devo - Jonah 1:4-16
❓ Is it possible that God sent Jonah on a mission that Jonah felt was going to fail?
"There are two purposes for God's message and our call to declare it. 1) That the hearers will heed and respond. 2) That they will know God's judgment is proclaimed and established." ~BP Devo (Tyler Woods)
Our Plan - I need this Lord, so let's do it now, okay Lord?
GOD's PLAN - Do you Trust Me? Then wait on Me
• Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)
• The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
v.4
Jonah boarded the boat and went to sleep at the bottom of the boat while the boat was being tossed at sea;
• God sent the wind and storm (tempest) so the ship almost broke.
• God can call a storm or calm the seas.
"Mat.8:24 "And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep.25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” ~Delanie Bee
v.5-10
The sailors were afraid, cried out to their gods, and threw cargo to lighten the ship.
They cast lots (similar to drawing names from a hat, randomly) & it fell on Jonah.
They woke Jonah and they inquired about him.
• He told them he was a Hebrew and feared the God of Heaven.
• He told them he was running from God.
v.11-16
Jonah asks to be thrown into the sea (to die?)
• They tried to "row" to safety but couldn't.
• They prayed to HIS GOD (out of fear) to be spared.
• They threw Jonah into the sea as a sacrifice to Him.
• They took vows after being delivered from the storm.
God showed mercy in the storm.
** Jonah wrote this book. It was his story to tell and he wrote it as a caution to us.
*Share with us below your notes and comments.

I know you are probably wondering why I asked 'Do you use SOAP' but this kind of SOAP isn't the kind you clean with. The SOAP I am referring to is the kind you use to study God's Word with in a deeper way.
SOAP stands for S-Scripture, O-Observation, A-Application, and P-Prayer
Almost 7 years ago, it was beginning to be a trend in women's online bible studies around the internet.
I was sure this was just a silly trend until I tried it with my women's online bible study group.
One of the things I discovered is that God works on you through the verse. Whatever you are going through, will come through on it and God talks to you.
The best way to explain it is to show you through sharing one of my SOAPs from April 28, 2021 (I always try to date mine)
BTW, our pastor uses this method but he will SOAP a whole chapter at a time and even taught us on a Wednesday night how to do this.
Scripture - Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body and be thankful.
Observation
There is no higher honor than to be the bride of Christ. As such, I need to make Him number one in every area of my life. I need to not just "dress" like the bride but commit to the whole relationship and my actions are like His bride...daily!
Application
Daily - God is the most important time I spend with - FIRST! Just like a spouse, don't allow distractions from building our relationship (prayer time, studying His Word). I also need to try harder to memorize God's Word to hide in my heart and daily live it.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for choosing us to be your bride. Today I will work even more diligently to put you and your Word first in my life. Help me to be able to memorize your Word and recall it when I need it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
I use a stalogy planner to write these in and I love looking back at them to see what I wrote and maybe what was going on in my life that the Lord was teaching me through His Word.
I hope you will give this a try. You can find it all over Pinterest or the internet. All you need is a pen and paper. (or if you are a digital person, computer/ipad)
Blessings!

I'm not sure I've shared this but my son, Gabe who is 17 years old, has always loved baking since 3 yr old. He wants to be a pastry chef. He has the opportunity to go to Pastry Camp at Bob Jones University (Christian college and homeschool curriculum we use). He paid for the whole thing himself, $500.
He went to the BJU Campus Tour with his dad this past April for 2 days (Greenville, South Carolina) and he got to experience dorm life. He had 4 roommates. His dad stayed across the street in the apartments for the married college students, so Gabe experienced being on his own somewhat.
This got him excited for college itself but also for the upcoming camp.
The Pastry Camp is July 7-12th and we will be dropping him off to stay the whole week by himself (vs. us staying in a hotel). We live 2 hours away. He is nervous but excited. We know that just going on the campus tour for 2 days and meeting the executive chef personally helped him feel more at ease.
We pray this propels him a little more into manhood (as we know boys like to stay "boys" as long as they can) as in maturity, responsibility, etc.
Gabe does almost all the cooking at home. He doesn't "allow" me to cook much, just plan the meals. He hopes to by next year have his cottage food license and have booths at the local surrounding farmer's markets.
We feel this is a good start to know IF it's what he truly wants to do as a career or side hustle.
On a side note, Gabe has recently been diagnosed with flat feet and his podiatrist gave him special inserts and has to wear braces that wrap around his inner foot and ankle. If he's on his feet for more than 1-1/2 hours he can be in tremendous pain, so we are praying that God will give him endurance during the camp.
I know the college also plans fun activities after their classes.
Praying he has an amazing time, learns a lot, and retains a lot of the info (oh did I mention he has auditory processing disorder - hard to comprehend quickly when it's just talking no visuals, OCD, and comprehension delays
) and it stays in his memory, can learn quickly, and is healthy and safe.
Oh and maybe that mom and dad don't cry to much since he's our last child.
Thank ya'll so much. I know the more we pray, the better.
Hugs
Jen

I'm asking for prayer for my husband Greg. He is from NC mtns and his family still lives there (we are in Georgia). His brother owns a pyrotechnic company that puts on fireworks shows around the state and for weddings. Greg was trained in April to learn how to do this to help when he brother needs extra hands. The company is about 75-80 people. This will be my husband's first show he helps with. He will be gone from 1-4th doing shows and 1 wedding (on Sat). Please pray for protection over all of them and him. His family are all Christians and most of the team.
He's excited of course but nervous too. The teams will be split doing about 3 shows each day.
Pray for Gabe and I's protection as we are here home alone, as well.
Thanks

This is so good I wanted to share it with you!
There was once a group of women studying the book of Malachi in the Old Testament.
As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three, which says: “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” This verse puzzled the women, and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study.
That week this woman called up a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot – then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver. She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered “Yes”, and explained that he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be damaged.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, “How do you know when the silver is fully refined?”
He smiled at her and answered, “Oh, that’s easy. When I see my image in it.”
If today you are feeling the heat of this world’s fire, just remember that God has His eyes on you.

With all that is going on in the world, it's easy to forget what God has provided and done in our lives. The enemy wants us to be distracted (not informed) so that we get pulled down or focus on what everyone else has instead of what we already have.
So, let's start off this week with showing (sharing) some gratitude!
Share what you are thankful for this week that you normally don't think about or thank him for.
I'll post mine in the comments with y'alls below.
