Wonderful testimony, and I will pray for Laura and her family!
It’s after 9pm Thursday evening. I’m tired. A GOOD TIRED. One of my husband's female coworkers and I have come to be friends. We don’t communicate often, but when we do, it seems to be a mentoring type connection and inspiring to me. She’s a sweet, married young lady with a 6 yo high energy son, and expecting a baby girl in August.
Thru our chats earlier this week, I saw a need to help her out. I went over and helped her pull LOTS of quack grass from her FIRST garden, this afternoon. I’m soooo excited for her as she delves into gardening, wanting to learn about about herbs and homepathy.. She attends church with her son as regularly as she can around her work as a paramedic. She is growing in her faith… yeah.
I’ve been able to share Christian books with her, that are inspiring to her. Such simple things for me to do, and yet a blessing to her LED BY GOD. Our connection began early in her pregnancy, as she was looking at much bed rest and much reading to occupy her.
PRAISE GOD the need for bedrest passed. But…. Our connection has continued… and I let God lead, by waiting for HIM to open doors to be a bleeding, HOW HE WANTS.
I Share this to help others see…Being a blessing FOR GOD….does not have to be complicated.
Please join me in blessing Laura from afar, by saying a prayer for her pregnancy, their baby girl, a safe labor for Mom and Baby, and for Big Brother to be a very good big brother.
Please pray for wisdom as she (they) traverse the medical system here. And, for her husband to come to be a Christ Follower.
Moni… you may share this when it will fit in on a Friday.
I am so thankful to my Lord how He shows me from time to time how He is working in our younger son's life. Kevin is kind of closed mouth about spiritual things and really doesn't like it if I ask him if he's going to church these days. He has been missing some Sundays because of his gigs (he's a guitarist) or other busy things. So I keep on praying, trusting that God is working in his heart.
So, on Father's Day weekend we were celebrating my birthday and Father'sDay at a restaurant and the discussion veered toward what our older son was doing (he's in a missions organization recruiting new missionaries that want to reach unreached people groups). So somewhere in the conversation, Kevin mentioned recent activities in his small group at his church and another time how he listens to someone on Christian radio. It was an embrace from my Father saying to me, "See? I've got this." That was my best birthday gift that day!
I'm so glad everything turned out okay!
We had a houseful on Sunday after church for Father's Day. The menu called for Mexican Food so the Instant pot was pressure cooking beans and the pressure cooker was cooking meat. I began to smell something like plastic burning so I came into the kitchen to look around. Couldn't find anything. Smell got stronger. This time I spotted the big bulge on the instant pot! I quickly unplugged the unit and opened the vent to release the steam as the bulge continued to grow. All the children were sent to the other room and we prayed and wondered which would win...the release valve or the plastic bubble! Thankfully, nothing blew up and the pinto beans were cooked to perfection! Good thing cause there were 13 hungry people in the house. God is good all the time. Praying for a sale on another electric pressure canner. Just in case you are wondering, the Instant pot was about ten years old. It could have been a big BOOM! Thank you Jesus!
God is so very gracious!
Last Saturday, I was able to go with my Church to a very popular event. Thousands of people were coming through. We had activities for the kids and a table for evangelism.
Many people gladly took tracts and books, and were interested in our church. My friends were on fire for the Lord and preaching the Gospel one on one, while I was handing out tracts.
Everyone was respectful. And only one person caused trouble, [cussed me out] but she drew a crowd and the crowd took tracts. So Glory to God!
Now you guys only know me by comments, but I am extremely timid and I have the voice of a small mouse! So when I get nervous my voice gets even quieter, and I start to stutter. So I was constantly fighting my fear and trying my best to talk loud enough so people could hear me. But as the old hymn says, “Brethren see poor sinners round ye, slumbering on the brink of woe. Death is coming, hell is moving, can ye bear to let them go?” I have the answer to their greatest problem and how dare I shut up because I feared men?
Yes! I was terrified to talk to so many people.
Yes! I was stuttering at times.
Yes! My heart was beating out of my chest with fear.
Yes! I messed up sometimes.
But in spite of me, God allowed the Gospel to go forth.
It's not about me! It's not about you! It's not about our skills! It's about God getting glory for Himself through His Gospel! And He will see to it that His Gospel covers all the ends of the earth!
Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
Malachi 1:11 “For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.”
He chose whom He would save, and He will save them. He will do it! Praise be to the Lord ! It's all about HIM! What a gracious God we have, that He allows us to serve Him! And He saves people like you and me!
God knows your weaknesses and struggles far better than you do, and He will help you and strengthen you. Surrender to Him and strive to serve Him wherever He has placed you.
“God doesn't always call the equipped, But He always equips the called.”
Graciously thanking our Lord for protecting me driving for over an hour in an unexpected awful rainstorm. It was raining extra hard and the wind was blowing me nearly off the road. Thank you, Jesus, for keeping me safe.
