This was an email I sent to Brad and Tyler a little over a year ago, in 2022.
Dear Brad, Christa and family and Tyler and family,
I just wanted to share with you our Thanksgiving and how it related to our morning Bible studies. I have a real dislike for Thanksgiving because of all the work we have to put into it and we always start late.
This year was no different, but I recalled what Tyler had said the week before. Pray for the little things. I mentioned that to my wife and she said a heartfelt prayer for God to help us through this time. I think the Lord Jesus himself held his hand up and told God the Father and the holy spirit, I'll take this one as I am a skilled craftsman and carpenter. Well, answered prayers aren't always what you expect. While finishing cleaning off our antique dining room table, I reached across the table, which has 4 legs on each side of a pedestal, Crack, 4 legs on one side of the table broke off and it was now at a 45° angle to the floor. Brad you had receiently mentioned that we should be patient in tribulations. Dinner was ready and we didn't have a table to eat at. So I just stared at the broken table and started to laugh. Thankfully my wife's oldest daughter had a 6 foot folding table she uses for craft fairs so at least we had a table to eat at. And Jesus saved our family from having hot turkey and gravy spilling in their laps, that was His answer. It was a Thanksgiving I will never forget and once again God saved the day.
Thanks for reading this, I hope it brought a smile to your face.
God bless all of you.
God's faithful servant, Danny.
Update, our 2023 Thanksgiving was almost as memorable. I passed out in the kitchen the evening before Thanksgiving. Ambulance ride to the hospital one of the guys riding with me said Happy Thanksgiving, it was after midnight. My wife claims I will do anything to get out of Thanksgiving.
