context:

For my grandmother's 80^th birthday. all daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughters, came together to celebrate with her. We all went on a road trip to PA for a concert and theater show.

But I had an allergic reaction to a wasp sting right as we were leaving, so I was on 2 benadryl and motion sick meds at the same time, basically a zombie. While in the car with all my cousins slightly stressful.

They all picked the music which was the equivalent to waterboarding. So 3 hours straight of their “music” and praying for them to be spared from those horrible worldviews. We stopped for gas and coffee before the show started.

OK, the story. It happened weeks ago, and I intended to post it but kept putting it off.

I was in the hospital for....yes a colonoscopy. Not a happy subject.

I was miserable, sitting in a gown. I should mention that i had dreams of not waking up after this, which frightened me. I've been thru this before, but that never happened before. in the everyday shuffle and so many things to do, there is no time like right now to leave a few lines of how wonderful our heavenly father is.

My washer broke in December and yes, we have a laundromat in town, two I think, but I do not like other peoples perfumed detergent remains in my laundry..... I asked my daughter - the one who contributed most to my grey hair in her younger years - and she lets me do all the laundry in her machine, even insists I use the dryer for the first load while the second one is being washed. I don't use a dryer, only in times of dyer need, as in once a year. This child of mine has grown into such a wonderful and caring adult, it keeps amazing me. You all know that my wife Terry is struggling to get off a prescribed medication they said was "no problem." Well, it became a BIG problem. Decreasing her dose results in a spin of the "Wheel of Misfortune" and her body throws a tantrum. Lately that wheel has landed on insomnia.

I can't let her endure it alone, so I sit next to the bed as she tries to get to sleep. Last night it took 'til 5am for her to finally sleep.

It's one thing to not be able to sleep and another thing to stay awake when your body screams for sleep. I pray most of the night and ask God to help Terry to get to sleep but I also ask God to help her so that I can get some sleep. I have learned that those prayers don't always get answered the way I intend. …
