Have I shouted yet today that "GOD IS SOME KIND OF GOOD!!!!!"
Let me shout it NOW!!!!! Pepper had an appointment with his Oncologist today. And let me tell you, we learned something at that appointment that left both of us with our eyes wide open and our jaws on the floor! At some time during his 47 day hospital stay, they put him on Lovenox, which is a blood thinner. We were not really surprised, because he had blood clots in his arm the previous hospital stay. BUT...this time, he actually had blood clots in his NECK. They did not travel to his lungs, his heart, or his brain. GOD IS SO AMAZING!!!!! He protected my sweet husband from further problems and complications! We truly didn't even know he had blood clots in his neck, and maybe the reason for that is that it would have scared us too much, or who knows? GOD knows! He made provision, my husband got the desperately needed medication, and he is still here! We are still fighting and clinging to God's promises!
There is still a long road ahead in his recovery and treatment. But I have NO DOUBT that God is going to bring us VICTORIOUSLY to the finish line, and Pepper will get to ring the bell!!! To God be the glory, great things He hath done!!!
Thanks be to God alone I wad able to convince my grandmother to let me have my grandfather for the day! And my aunt was able to drive me to pick him up.
We had a great time together! He thanked me in tears and even told me he Loved me! Which you don't understand, my grandfather hardly ever says I love you! But when he does you know he means it!
I didn't get to share the Gospel with him but my goal was just to love him and should the opportunity arise Hallelujah! But may this lead to my grandfather thinking about and coming to the savior!
After 47 (yes, forty-seven) long days between 3 hospitals, my Husband got to come home yesterday! I am so thankful that our loving Heavenly Father heard every prayer, collected every tear, and put the right people in the right places at the right times. I know He was with Pepper every moment, through the most debilitating pain and complications he suffered, through nightmares and being afraid, through loneliness and tests and procedures, every step of the way, he was held securely in God's most capable hands.
And now...we REJOICE to be home together! I wanted to do something extra special for him when he came home, and I found a small, red throw rug. I put it right inside the house, in front of the door. When he came in, he just smiled, because I had told him about 2 or 3 weeks ago that I would roll out the red carpet for him when I got to bring him home!
I'm thankful that I got to go see him almost every day, only missing a day because of my eye surgery or other appointments. I'm thankful we talked on the phone and prayed together every night. I am thankful for YOU, my wonderful Devo family, for holding us up with prayers and encouragement. Much love to you all.
I want to leave you with the words to one of my favorite songs!
Anyone else ever have one of those moments where it feels like God is saying “Hey Knucklehead! Eyes on Me! I'm in control not you.” Well I just got graciously smacked in the back of the head with that Holy 2 by 4.
As many of you know I have been asking and longing for an opportunity to share the Gospel uninterrupted with my grandfather. And I have been wrestling and waiting in prayer for this opportunity for a long while. And have been often discouraged by the “door not opening.”
Well the other night I was there bringing back their laundry, I could tell right as I walked in the house neither of my my grandparents were in the right state of mind to hear the Gospel. So I sighed a quick prayer for them and just went about putting away the groceries.
When my grandfather comes and asks me to see something in his room. He shows me some dvds he had found and asked if I wanted to borrow them. And then started talking about the candy I'd brought him.
As I was talking to him I looked over, the door to his office was open [I haven't really been in it before I just know he's there all the time], and on the wall first thing you see, was a poem I had written back in 2020 with a Gospel presentation. Framed and the print blown up so he could see it. Right in view. It hit me like a ton of bricks. He reads it everyday! I had forgotten I even gave him a copy of it!
I had been worrying myself to death to share the Gospel again with him. [not that I could save him, but the Gospel is the power of salvation] And unbeknownst to me I was “preaching”to him daily!
All I can say is glory to God! I still long for a in depth conversation with him, but it brings comfort to know not only have I told him the Gospel, but he constantly is seeing reminders of it. Oh May God be pleased to save him! Please Continue to pray for his salvation.
God is good! And is continually working in ways we can't see.
Pepper was moved to the Rehab Hospital Tuesday. Yesterday they did an assessment of him in therapy to know where to begin. Today was his first big day of rehab! The Dr., different therapists, and the nurses are all very focused on what he needs to regain his strength so he can come home! Tomorrow (Friday) they are taking him back to the main hospital to do another swallow study. PLEASE keep this in your prayers! His Dr. is already talking about new and different things they can do to help him swallow better!
God is some kind of good! Even on the darkest days, He is taking care of EVERY detail, and strengthening us for what we are facing. Of course, He even blessed me with the very best family, our Everyday Outreach family! Your prayers and encouragement mean the world to me! THANK YOU EVERYONE! And let me know how I can pray for YOU!
Thanking and praising God that our friend just brought over another load of wood that is split and ready to stack. And is bringing another next week. God is so good! can't believe it is September already but time flies whether I pay attention or not. :-) Now I need to catch up. But everything for the King!

Got any rivers you think are uncrossable?
God any mountains you cannot tunnel through?
God specializes in things called impossible,
And He can do what no other power can do!
God is some kind of good!
God is so good!
