First of all Dad was able to make it to Christmas eve service! [his health issues keep him from being able to go to church often] Thank God he was able to come.
On Christmas day, was able to help my grandmother [mom's side] have a dinner. She was so happy. [hasn't been able to host since she broke her hip/leg in 2020] Mom and I went early helped and had breakfast with her.
Later that day my cousin whom I close with was there, and thank God he was sober! I got to witness to him! Hallelujah! Been praying for almost two years for that opportunity! He said he'd think about it.
The day after Christmas went to NJ and visited with family [dad's stepmom and brothers] Had a wonderful time! And got to hang out with my cousin who has MS we were jamming out to very hard rock music. :-) quite loud. he had fun that's all that matters.
One of my friends lives in Maine [my pastor's father-in-law, he's about 80 years old] he comes to visit for a few weeks, every holiday. Well about three years ago he came when I made bread for a luncheon. Ever since he's called me the bread girl. :-)
He was there at Christmas eve service. Was happy to see him and told him if I knew he was coming I would have made him some bread, he jokingly said “I'm going to be here for 2 weeks” I said I'd see what I could do. Well on Saturday night was up late and made him a loaf, brought it to him on Sunday morning. Well needless to say he was shocked! And very VERY happy! He thanked me so much and told everyone in the church what I did. Such a blessing to make his day! And thank you BFH for the recipe!
This is just too cute not to share. There's a very kind man at church [our deacon] he's also about 80 years old. Seven years ago, [Back when cookie trays were only 50 cents] I gave each church member a tin cookie tray. He was the only one who brought it back. So everyone else gets paper plates and he gets the fancy snowman tin plate. And it a little joke between us. Handed them all out the week before Christmas. Well last Sunday he came over to me, “Delanie! I remembered! I want my refill next year!” Just broke out laughing, so sweet! Now onto year 8.
And I'll pick on myself, my best friend always teases me because I say God is good! And all the clothes I wear are either gray, blue, or green. So she gave me a neon hot pink hat that says God is good! I put it on and everyone was laughing at me, because that is so not my style! But it opened up some conversations. So God is good! And I'll say it till I die! :-)
Well nothing huge to report, but God is so good and faithful! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a blessed new year!
May God bless you all richly!
Remember everything for Jesus! Matthew 28! Onward!
Whew! Christmas has snuck up on us again! Something about Thanksgiving being right before the first Sunday of Advent.
Here sharing some ideas for spreading the Gospel this Christmas and asking for your prayers that God would bless my efforts. And open doors with loved ones this Christmas and save many people for His dear Son.
For the little kids, made goody bags.
I printed out coloring sheets with Christmas verses on them, crayons, a Christmas pencil, got some candy and playdoh with a cookie cutter, and bought little booklets teaching kids to memorize the ten commandments and explaining the Gospel in a way they can understand.
For the teens and adults, made movie night goody bags,
Got little popcorn boxes, put a bag of popcorn, a hot chocolate mix, marshmallow stick, and candy cane for stirring the cocoa, a candy bar and a Christmas themed tract in the back of it. And even got some solid Spanish tracts for some friends of mine this year. Because I'm still banging my head through the brick wall of learning Spanish. But gaining ground! God is good!
For every family, a hand painted ornament, a card with a poem and some Bible verses. With a cookie tray.
I wrote the poem last year, took me about 3 years to get it right. But I pray it is a blessing.
And before you say “you're not too jolly with it” There is joy through out it, and we have overflowing joy because we have had the serious issue of salvation Settled by Christ. Therefore we are full of joy and love. And how dare I tell someone Merry Christmas! Without even trying to explain what happened! Christ came to save sinners! Hallelujah! So here it is, let me know what you think.
A Christmas Plea
Jingle bells, baking smells, and all such activity;
But without the Lord, it can only be vanity.
What can I write that hasn't said,
Maybe tell you about falling snow, or perhaps ginger bread?
None of these things, as good as the may be;
Can save your soul, O can't you see?
We are sinners, for we all have lied,
Stolen and God's Holy Name despised.
We've been bound to sin since the fall,
And therefore, we constantly break God's law.
On Judgment Day, which will surely come;
You must stand before Him, to give account for all you've done.
God sees every thought, and He knows your heart;
You cannot hide from Him, not even in part.
The punishment for sin, You, I must tell,
Is eternal damnation from God in Hell.
God is good, loving, and just,
And He will punish sin, in that you can trust.
If you are honest, in the light of His Law,
You are guilty of breaking it all.
We deserve only death, hell, and the grave,
But God in His great mercy, sent His only Son, Jesus Christ;
Our wicked souls to save.
He was of a virgin born,
Sinless and perfect, yet beaten and scorned.
He was crucified by evil men,
And bore God's wrath to its full end.
He drank it all, not a drop was left,
And He cried out, “It is finished!” with His dying breath.
His precious blood spilled upon the sod,
He yielded up His Spirit, He, the Almighty Lamb of God.
On the third day, He arose from the dead,
His bruised heel crushed the dragon's head.
He ascended to His Throne in Heaven above,
And He reigns victorious, our Lord of love!
He is not a helpless little Babe,
He is the God Almighty, powerful to save!
Trust in Him, and believe His word,
Or you will be slain by His mighty sword!
Bow your knees to this King of kings,
And let your praises of Him eternally ring!
Repent of your sins, hate and despise them;
Turn to God, now love and obey Him.
Believe in the Gospel, it is the only power to save,
And worship God, whom this precious gift gave.
The Gospel, has now been before you laid,
Do not harden your heart! The price has already been paid!
Trust in Christ, not just in word,
But serve Him alone as Lord.
Your “goodness” can't save you, nor can anything else,
Oh! Look to Jesus and not to yourself!
He alone, your soul can save!
The debt we owe for sin, He fully paid.
If you die in your sins, you will go to hell,
When any of us will die, who can tell?
My dear friend, Listen to me!
I love you, and in Heaven your soul I want to see!
And as I end this appeal to you,
Remember this Christmas, there is only one way of Salvation for you.
It will cost you all, but there is nothing worth more,
In heaven or on this earth, worth living for.
Surrender your life completely to Him,
And He will cleanse you from your sin.
He will give to you a new heart, and a new mind;
That can love Him and His Word divine.
So here you go, you may think me mad,
To take this or leave it, is a choice you have.
But on that final judgment day,
Please do not of me say;
That I did not warn you of your sin,
Nor pleaded with you to turn to Him!

So this Christmas let the Joy of the Lord be your strength, party it up because Christ is risen indeed! and reigning Victorious! He saved us, And NOTHING can separate us from His love! Oh glory of glories! Onward! Matthew 28! Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope im doing this in the right place Moni. A couple of days ago i was driving home from my ladies group when i spotted a young man walking his bike up the hill.I slowed down and thought to myself is it safe to stop and give him a ride? God put his hand on my shoulder and said yes. I pulled up behind him and fallowed him . I dont think he heard me so i honked. He looked at me as i motioned for him to get in. He shook his head yes with great movements. The wind was blowing very hard and cold. We put his bike in the backend and he got in. I showed him how to turn the seat heater on. Yes he said. He told me he had just asked God to let someone stop .He had not so warm gloves on and i noticed he had an arrtoffical leg. He and i exchanged knoledge on leg problems. Then he started telling me about God and how amazed he was as he found God at thanksgiving. He said how blessed hevwasbwith me stopping and amazed how his exwife had asked him after 6 yrs to move back in with him. Nothing but a room and time with his kids. He could not have been more blessed and wanted the world to know and All glory be to God. I agreeed with him and told him about my journey and finding this place and all of you. He looked relived and happy again. I let him out at the YMCA where he wanted to go, but 1st i gave him some way better gloves. Rightaway he bowed his head and thanked God. After he left i began to cry jappy tears and thanked God too. Im glad he still needs me.
God is so good to you and through you Delanie! Praising God for your opportunities and for the hearts and souls of those who hear the words you are used to plant. God be praised.
Oh Delanie!!! HALLELUJAH!!! Another outstanding and heart- warming testimony of God's goodness! We just never know how, when or where God will use us, and you show us again and again why it is so important to always go, serve, and do!
Well today [Saturday] has been a whirlwind, But God is so good and gracious! And I want to praise Him!
Woke up to the news of one of my dearest friends passing. He was a dear man, servant of God, prayer warrior, evangelist, and pastor. [retired by the time I met him] We would talk every Sunday about theology and what God was doing in our lives and about our Evangelistic efforts. And in a sense he was like a grandfather to me. He was my Evangelism buddy whenever there was a church event. He was to frail to stand but would sit in the booth behind me, encouraging and praying.
I rejoice that he is home with our precious Lord, he is free from pain and free to worship God completely and fully. I am broken but rejoice. God is good! He's probably discussing theology with the apostle Paul. :-)
Was very shook from that news but tried to get myself and emotions under control, because I was to babysit for some friends of mine from church who I am very close with [almost like an aunt to the kids. Ages 6,4,2,and 2 months] And the little guys can't understand why i was crying.
Usually the kids run out the door to tackle me, but when I went there I had to knock on the door and walked into a belated surprise birthday party. [because they were ill during my actual birthday] well needless to say I was overjoyed and overwhelmed. But we had a great time of fellowship and we talked a lot and helped each other process the sudden loss.
But the kids were just ecstatic they got to surprise “miss Delanie” oh and eat cupcakes. :-) Chocolate and sprinkles make everything better!
Then mom and I had some more shopping to do. Something was different, I don't know what or how, but I wasn't as timid or afraid as I usually am when evangelizing. More outgoing, I guess the loss of my Evangelism buddy, and the realization that death is coming for everyone, and knowing that if people die without Jesus there is a real place called hell. And that only God can save them and He will save a people for His dear Son. And the promised victory that all those of the elect will be saved. And how can they be saved unless they hear? Spurred me on. Handed tracts to everyone I could and left them a sentence or two About God.
In the back of my mind all I could hear my dear friend saying to me what he always said to me when I was handing out tracts with him at church events. “Stand up straight! Project your voice so they can hear you! And for crying aloud smile!” [I have the voice of a small mouse and no one can hear me]
Praise God! He opened many doors. But this one was wonderful. Went to the local dollar store. There is a cashier who is very nice and we've come to be somewhat friends, [about a year ago, she missed something when ringing me up, and I came back and made sure it was paid for. She really liked me for that. And that I always ask about how she is doing]
She was sent to a different dollar store recently, and was there for about 2 months. Well she was back today. We were talking “Hey how are you doing? Missed you glad you are back. Any plans for Christmas?” sort of thing.
The topic of reading came up. I asked her if she liked to read, she said YES! That she absolutely loved to read. We went on talking for awhile because I had a lot of things to ring up.
I paid, and when she handed me the receipt, I said “since you love to read, may I give you a Christmas Present?” she just looked puzzled. I continued, “I buy cases of books to give away to people,” and handed her two books. [with the Gospel in them]
She started crying and thanked me and was asking why I would do such a thing for her. And if I was sure I wanted to give them to her. I responded “Yes, You're more than welcome. Merry Christmas! God bless you.”
I was walking to the car, and I had forgotten a bag. She came running out of the store “You forgot your bag!” I thanked her and went to get it. She stopped me and hugged me and thanked me saying no one had done anything that nice for her. And she was praying that she would find God. And it was perfect timing.
May God be pleased to save her.
I do not tell you this to praise me, but to praise our Gracious and Loving God! He alone is worthy of praise! He uses broken and sinful men and women like you and me. So He will get the most glory for Himself. Blessed be the Lord! We are privileged to serve Him, and tell others about Him!
Through out our health and financial difficulties God has gotten us through. David had his knee surgery. He was out of work since March. We're getting the arthritis in my neck and the issues with my arm taken care of. Our bills have gotten paid. We did cut back a lot yet didn't miss anything. David is back to work. Our son Justin is working. All this is due to God's love for us.
Thank you Jesus for sitting next to me during this difficult time.
Praising God for one full year of recovery! Today marks a years since my last chemo! I was told I wouldn't make it two months without chemo. Just goes to show ya, that it ain't over until God says it's over. He still has work for me to do. So blessed to be amonst all of you while I walk this journey. Hallelujah!
God IS good, all the time! Thank you for sharing your sweet testimonies with us!
Scatter shot of praises!
God is so good!
