I don't do “new year's resolutions” because
A. They never work. [ If you are honest, by February we've forgotten them.]
B. When we see a sin/sinful habit in our lives we should repent and resolve of it immediately
C. We should be constantly making real efforts to grow and be “Good Servants of Christ Jesus”
But certain goals are hands down easier to start at the beginning of the week, month, year, etc.
So what are your goals for this year?
Please share some ideas/examples; so we can, “Consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,” And help keep each other accountable.
Beloved, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.“ Ephesians 5:15-17
Lord willing my goals for 2024
Read the Bible twice
Memorize more Scriptures by chipping away at a few verses each day. [The Sermon on the Mount esp., and some of the smaller Epistles]
Be more intentional with how I use my spare time. [Lord willing going to go through the “Biblical Foundations For the Christian Faith” workbooks, re-listen to all the “Studies in Proverbs” series, and take “The Way of the Master Basic Training Course”]
Learn Latin American Spanish [to preach the Gospel to some friends who only speak Spanish.]
Become good at binding quilts. [To make baby quilts for a crisis pregnancy center]
This year looks different for me. Chemo and cancer battle is over, but the battle to get healthy again has begun. I want it all done now, but giving myself grace when I remember. Time to read through the Bible again. I usually give God the first fruits of the year and pray and listen for direction. The Battle Belongs to the Lord!
