As I said in the YT chat, I would make a post for discussion about the Law etc., and here it is.
Feel free to state your case, explain your position, and discuss.
Just be respectful, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and we can disagree, without ripping each other's heads off.
I will be more than happy to discuss with anyone one on this topic.
But if you are of the persuasion that doing good works can earn your Salvation, I implore you to repent. Your good deeds cannot save you, Only Jesus can save you!
Galatians 2:21 “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.”
Isaiah 64:6 “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.”
Ephesians 2:1-10 “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
We are saved by Grace through faith in Christ alone. And it is also true that Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15 And “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5 :17-18 Now to what degree was the Law fulfilled in Christ is where we may disagree. And so as, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” [Proverbs 27:17] We can respectfully have conversation and try to understand more.
May we be faithful to God in all we do and say.
Yours in Christ, Delanie
Truth.
Amen Delanie! Thank you for posting this!
